Upcycled 100% Cotton Denim and Fishing Equipment
Made from recycled denim and fishing supplies, My piece “Are You the Fish or the Fisherman”, speaks to the idea of Elizabeth Bishop’s character in the poem The Fish, and her connection to the fish. She learns that this fish has been through many hardships throughout its life, evident by its scars and hooks that remain hanging from its mouth. All of the scars symbolize our metaphoric scars that we gain through challenges in life. Bishop realizes that WE are the fisherman and the fish.
